Post-graduate teaching and training
The Department of Aberdeen Clinical Urology, in conjunction with Aberdeen Academic Urology Unit, has an excellent track record in delivering training workshops to residents and trainee urologists throughout Europe and beyond, in the field of evidence synthesis (including systematic reviews and meta-analysis), clinical practice guideline development, clinical trial methodology, and core outcome set development.
In addition, the department delivers lectures on a regular basis as part of the hospital postgraduate teaching programme primarily aimed at nurses and clinicians, and seminars to general practitioners in the community.
Aberdeen Royal Infirmary is a centre for postgraduate training in urology as part of the East of Scotland rotation. ARI trains speciality doctors in addition to core trainees and foundation doctors while it boasts strong links with European centres of excellence, often taking on post-graduate fellows from overseas.
